When connecting the raspberry pi 1080p on a monitor, it may be that you are in with black bars at the sides.

To test, install raspbian onto another microsd card, and boot from this instead. Use these free black bars png #65999 for your personal projects or designs. I played around with the pi and the monitor, and cannot find what settings adjustments will fix.
I set my screen resolution to 1920x1080 and my monitor is a 1920x1080 but i still have a black bar about two inches on the left and it will not fill it at all.
But no more, full screen at 1920x1200 monitor only now! A hdtv that does 1920x1080 resolution has a ratio of 1.78:1 (16:9). Both left and right resolution should be 1920x1080 60hz. I search the solution by my own without any success.
